1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Budget Coach AI ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Budget Coach AI is a personal finance management application that provides:

• Transaction tracking and categorization
• Budget creation and monitoring
• Bill reminders and management
• AI-powered financial insights and coaching
• Bank account linking through Plaid (Premium feature)
• Data export and reporting

3. Important Disclaimers

3.1 Not Financial Advice

Budget Coach AI is not a licensed financial advisor, investment advisor, tax advisor, or financial planner. The information, insights, and recommendations provided by the App, including our AI coach, are for informational and educational purposes only. They should not be considered professional financial advice.

3.2 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Before making any significant financial decisions, we recommend consulting with a qualified financial professional. We are not liable for any financial losses or damages resulting from your use of the App or reliance on its features.

3.3 Accuracy of Information

While we strive to provide accurate transaction categorization and insights, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. You should verify the accuracy of imported transactions and categorizations.

4. Account Registration

To use certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activities under your account

5. Subscription & Payments

5.1 Free Tier

Budget Coach AI offers a free tier with limited features. Free users can track transactions, manage basic budgets, and access limited AI coach interactions.

5.2 Premium Subscription

Premium features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.

5.3 Subscription Terms

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policies
• Prices may change with notice; continued use constitutes acceptance

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's operation
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Use the App to transmit harmful code or content
• Share your account with others
• Use automated systems to access the App without permission

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, features, and content, is owned by Budget Coach AI and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

• Plaid: For bank account linking (subject to Plaid's Terms)
• Apple iCloud: For data synchronization (subject to Apple's Terms)
• AI Services: For generating insights and recommendations

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Budget Coach AI and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause or notice. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ceases immediately
• We may delete your account and data
• Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by email. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
